South Korea’s Ministry of Economy and Finance  announced on 22 April 2025 that it will extend the fuel tax cut for an additional two months, with revised discount rates.

The tax discount on gasoline will be reduced from 15% to 10%, while discounts on diesel and liquefied petroleum gas butane (LPG) will drop from 23% to 15%.

The revised rates are set to take effect by the end of June, extending the fuel tax reduction first implemented in November 2021 to help lower energy costs for consumers.
