On 16 May 2021, Jordan’s Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD) called the taxpayers required to submit income tax returns for the fiscal year 2020 who did not submit them during the legal period that ended at the beginning of this week and the initiative to submit them as soon as possible.
The department indicated that the delay in submitting the return and the payment of the income tax declared in it from the legal date exposes the taxpayer to fines and additions in addition to his exposure to the initial and administrative estimate.
ISTD also states that the delay in paying the tax exposes the taxpayer to a fine of 0.4% of the value of the tax due for each week of delay or any part thereof.
