Italy has passed a law focused on education, technical institutes, teachers, school infrastructure, and tax credits for companies hiring researchers.

Italy has enacted Law No. 79 of 5 June 2025, which was published in the Official Gazette. This legislation converts Decree-Law No. 45 of 7 April 2025 into law with amendments.

The Law introduces measures to implement Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan, focusing on education, technical institutes, teachers, and school infrastructure.

Law No. 79 also introduces a tax credit for companies hiring researchers. Entities that employ PhD holders or researchers on contracts can receive a EUR 10,000 credit for permanent hires between 1 July 2025 and 31 December 2026.

Law No. 79 goes into force on 7 June 2025.
