A further round of bilateral negotiations was held between Italy and Switzerland in Rome which aimed at resolving important tax issues between the two countries.
Italy and Switzerland agreed to find a solution to a number of major points of tax disagreement in 2012 between the two jurisdictions. The issue was to revise the existing double taxation agreement, the taxation of future income from capital, the regularization of the unreported assets of Italian taxpayers held in the Confederation, , existing “black lists,” market access, the taxation of cross-border workers, as well as fiscal questions relating to the Italian enclave of Campione. Determined to present concrete solutions shortly, both parties have also agreed on a new set of dates for talks.
