On 28 April 2021, the Irish Revenue made an announcement to extend the return e-filing and e-payment date through ROS for self-assessment income tax customers and customers responsible for Capital Acquisition Tax (CAT). According to the declaration, the e-filing due date is extended until 17 November 2021 for customers who file their 2020 Form 11 return and make the appropriate payment electronically for Preliminary Tax for 2021 and Income Tax balance due for 2020.
The extended date is similar for customers who make a CAT return and the appropriate payment through ROS for the year ended on 31 August 2021. Customers must both pay and file through ROS to get this extension. The deadline extends up to 31 October 2021 in a situation in where only one of these actions is completed through ROS.
