Iran’s Guardian Council has approved the income tax treaty with Finland on 22 April 2025, after the parliament approved the agreement on 8 April 2025.
Signed on 7 February 2022, this is the first treaty between the two countries and aims to eliminate double taxation concerning taxes on income and prevent tax evasion and avoidance between Iran and Finland.
The agreement will take effect 30 days after exchanging ratification instruments. It will apply in Finland from 1 January of the year after it takes effect and in Iran from 21 March (the first day of Farvardin in the Iranian calendar) after the treaty becomes effective in Finland.
