The Greek Public Revenue Authority (AADE) has announced an update with the publication of Circular A.1089, issued on 3 June 2024. This circular revises the lists of reportable and participating jurisdictions for the Automatic Exchange of Financial Account Information (AEOI) under the Common Reporting Standard (CRS).

Key points from the update include:

  1. New reportable jurisdictions:
    • Aruba, Kenya, and Thailand have been added as reportable jurisdictions for financial account information pertaining to the years 2022 and 2023.
    • Georgia has been included as a reportable jurisdiction for the year 2023.
  2. New participating jurisdictions:
    • Kenya and Thailand are now participating jurisdictions starting in 2023.
    • Georgia will be a participating jurisdiction starting in 2024.
  3. Conditional inclusion:
    • The inclusion of Georgia as both a reportable and participating jurisdiction is subject to the CRS Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement (MCAA) being in force and applicable between Georgia and Greece.
