A special unit has been set up by the German federal state of Baden-Württemberg within its tax investigation department to protect fiscal crime at federal level.
The unit will involve carrying out investigation to trace tax evasion strategies and to uncover fraudulent activities especially in electronic commerce. Exchange of information will take place with special units in other states of Germany. The unit will consist of a specialized team of tax investigators including information technology specialists and corporate and sales tax auditors.
