Finland’s Ministry of Finance launched a public consultation on 24 June 2025 regarding real estate and income taxation for offshore windmills.
The aim is to ensure offshore windmills face a tax burden comparable to onshore windmills.
The draft proposal defines Finland geographically in tax legislation, including land, air, sea areas, and the exclusive economic zone, making offshore structures and activities, like windmills, subject to real estate and income tax.
