On 23 March 2020, the Egyptian Tax Authority has issued a press release extending tax return filing deadline for individual amid COVID-19 pandemic.
Tax Authority extends the period of submitting tax returns from 31 March 2020 to April 16 for individual taxpayers, in order to facilitate the financiers and prevent crowding out of the errands and to preserve their safety. The Authority has canceled the entry fees for individuals on the electronic network to submit declarations (for this season only), in order to encourage them to submit their tax returns online, and to avoid crowds with errands, appealing to funders from natural persons to benefit from this service and submit their tax returns online.
Furthermore, the Tax Authority allowed the options of submitting the tax payments to be made either electronically or through Bank Cheque.
