Iraq’s new agency announced in a release that officials from the Czech Republic and Iraq met on 13 February 2025 to discuss bilateral cooperation, including plans to finalise an income tax treaty.
The tax treaty aims to eliminate double taxation on income and prevent tax evasion between the Czech Republic and Iraq. It is also expected to improve economic cooperation and trade promotion between the two countries.
Any resulting treaty would be the first between the two countries and would require finalisation, signing, and ratification before taking effect.
