The Czech Republic and Gabon officials resumed negotiations for an income tax treaty on 18 February 2025.
The first round of the new tax treaty negotiations are expected to continue until 21 February 2025.
The income treaty aims to prevent double taxation of income and combat tax evasion.
A previous treaty was negotiated on 7 November 2013 but never signed.
Any new treaty resulting from these negotiations must be finalised, signed, and ratified before it takes effect.
