On 13 August 2020, Costa Rica has published Resolution DGT-ICD-R-19-2020 providing further relief from the beneficial ownership declaration requirements for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Previously, the deadline for the annual declaration had been extended from April 2020 to September 2020 by a resolution issued in March 2020. According to the latest resolution, the next annual beneficial ownership declaration will be required in April 2021.
Companies that have to submit an extraordinary declaration or make corrections before April 2021 can do so in the ordinary annual declaration in April 2021. Under standard requirements, extraordinary declarations are usually required within 15 days of a 15% or greater change in ownership.
