China’s commerce ministry announced it will impose anti-dumping duties of 48.4% to 166.2% on Indian cypermethrin for five years, effective immediately.
Cypermethrin is an insecticide used in agriculture and sanitation.
The decision follows a year-long investigation which found that India had been exporting cypermethrin at prices well below market value, causing significant harm to China’s domestic industry.
Meanwhile, India adopted a firm approach to trade protection against Chinese products. In 2024, it launched 47 trade remedy investigations, 37 of which targeted Chinese goods like aluminum foil and vacuum flasks. In April 2025, India also imposed a 12% safeguard tariff on some Chinese steel imports.
