On 27 December 2023, Chile’s tax authority declared it published the eighth version of the Catalog of Tax Schemes. The publication of this Catalog responds to the challenge of ensuring that each taxpayer understands compliance with their tax obligations and highlights their responsibility to the country.
The Catalog offers taxpayers assurance regarding tax compliance related to business models and issues affecting the Chilean tax system, mostly related to transactions, operations, or schemes that may indicate potential non-compliance with tax regulations.
The eighth edition of the Catalog features 85 schemes, including 10 new additions. Of the 10 new schemes, 3 are related to the donation tax and 7 to the income tax. These additions include asset transfers that impact taxation at the global tax or donation tax level, utilizing companies with tax losses to offset profits from asset sales and reorganizations that hide profit withdrawals.
