Canada’s Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade has highlighted Canada’s growing trade relationship with Southeastern Europe during remarks he delivered at the NATO Council of Canada Conference on Investment and Business Opportunities in South Eastern Europe. The speech highlighted the importance of trade and investment to create opportunities and prosperity.
Last year, in addition to the conclusion of the trade agreement between Canada and the European Union, Canada also concluded or brought into force three foreign investment promotion and protection agreements (FIPAs) with Southeastern European countries: Albania, Serbia and Moldova. Those three treaties were part of the total of ten treaties that Canada concluded or brought into force in 2013.
