Cameroon’s Senate has approved the ratification of an income tax treaty with China on 8 April 2025.
Signed initially on 17 October 2025, this treaty is the first of its kind between the two nations and aims to eliminate double taxation on income and prevent tax evasion and avoidance between Cameroon and China.
The signing of this tax agreement comes as the Cameroonian government launches several mineral projects of key interest to China, including the Mbalam-Nabeba iron ore project spanning Cameroon and Congo.
It will officially take effect once both countries exchange the ratification instruments.
