Brazil's Federal Revenue Service (RFB) is set to pay out more than BRL 578 million in income tax refunds to over 200,000 taxpayers on 27 February, with priority payments going to the elderly, people with disabilities, educators, and those who filed using pre-filled declarations or PIX.

Brazil’s tax authority, the Federal Revenue Service (RFB) has launched a public consultation for the residual batch of Individual Income Tax (IRPF) refunds on 20 February 2026.

This batch includes 204,824 refunds totalling BRL 578,974,901.07, benefiting both priority and non-priority taxpayers. Bank credits will be processed on 27 February 2026.

Priority taxpayers will receive BRL 337,697,578.81, distributed as follows:

  • Seniors over 80: 6,632 refunds
  • Seniors aged 60-79: 39,290 refunds
  • People with disabilities or serious illnesses: 3,264 refunds
  • Educators: 10,735 refunds

Additionally, 127,585 refunds go to taxpayers who used pre-filled declarations or chose PIX payment, while 17,318 refunds are designated for non-priority contributors.

Refunds are deposited only into accounts belonging to the declaration holder. If banking details are incorrect, taxpayers have one year to reschedule payment through Banco do Brasil’s portal (https://www.bb.com.br/irpf) or by calling 4004-0001 (capitals) or 0800-729-0001 (other locations).

After one year, unclaimed amounts must be requested through the e-CAC Portal.
