NBR extends deadline for taxpayers facing online filing issues.

The Bangladesh National Board of Revenue (NBR) has extended the deadline for taxpayers unable to file their income tax returns online due to technical or registration issues.

In a special order issued on 30 October 2025, NBR Chairman Md. Abdur Rahman Khan stated that affected taxpayers can now submit a written application to their respective Deputy Tax Commissioner by 15 November 2025.

The previous deadline for such applications was 31 October 2025.

This year, NBR has mandated online submission of income tax returns for all individual taxpayers. Certain groups are exempt from compulsory online filing, including senior citizens aged 65 or older, taxpayers with physical or special disabilities, Bangladeshi citizens living abroad, legal representatives submitting returns for deceased taxpayers, and foreign nationals working in Bangladesh. Even exempt taxpayers can choose to file their returns online voluntarily.
