The Republic of Azerbaijan published a law ratifying the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent BEPS (MLI) on Monday, 24 June 2024.
The Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan made this decision based on Clause 4 of Part I of Article 95 of the Constitution of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan signed the BEPS MLI on 20 November, 2023. According to its provisional list of reservations and notifications, Azerbaijan plans to apply the MLI to 54 of its tax treaties.
For the MLI to take effect concerning a specific treaty, both parties must designate the treaty as a covered agreement and complete the necessary ratification procedures.
