Azerbaijan published the law – titled, “Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on approval of the ‘Agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kyrgyz Republic on the elimination of double taxation and prevention of tax evasion with respect to taxes on income’” – ratifying the pending income tax treaty with Kyrgyzstan on 15 July, 2024.

Earlier, Azerbaijan’s National Assembly (Milli Mejlis) ratified the pending income tax treaty with Kyrgyzstan on 28 June 2024.

The income tax agreement aims to eliminate double taxation and prevent tax evasion between the two countries. Additionally, this deal is expected to strengthen trade relations and encourage cross-border investments by removing financial barriers.

Signed on 24 April, 2024, this treaty is the first between the two nations and will take effect after the exchange of the ratification instruments.
