The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) released an updated list featuring 132 Australian government entities registered on the Peppol network On 22 October 2024.

The Peppol is an extremely secure network used to exchange business-critical electronic documents. The government entities appear on the Peppol Directory along with hundreds of state, territory and local government organisations, and thousands of other Australian businesses who can receive eInvoices.

According to the ATO, suppliers to any listed entities may receive faster payments by sending eInvoices. In connection with the updated list, the ATO published a new Guide to Receiving and Processing eInvoices on 30 September 2024.

The guide includes information on background, e-invoice data requirements, exemption management, supporting suppliers, government payment terms, e-invoicing checklist, and supplier onboarding tips.
