Australia and Japan signed an agreement to promote economic relations (EPA), in Canberra on 8 July 2014.
The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said that, “this is the most liberalizing bilateral trade agreement and if it is fully implemented, more than 97% of Australia’s exports to Japan will receive preferential access or enter duty free. The JAEPA also guarantees Australian service suppliers access to markets in financial, legal, education, and telecommunications services.”
