Armenia’s President has signed a law for the ratification of the free trade agreement (FTA) between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia) and Iran on 27 November 2024.

The Armenian National Assembly (Parliament) approved the FTA on 15 November 2024.

This follows after Armenia signed an FTA with EAEU and Iran on 25 December 2023.

The new FTA, once enacted, will supersede the interim agreement between the EAEU and Iran signed on 17 May 2018.

The interim FTA has been in effect since 27 October 2019.
