ARCA has raised reporting thresholds for financial institutions and e-wallet providers under Decree 353. The changes were outlined in General Resolution 5699, which was published on 23 May 2025.
Argentina’s federal tax authority (ARCA) has increased the reporting thresholds for financial institutions and electronic wallet providers regarding client transactions, as per Decree 353. The updated thresholds were introduced through General Resolution 5699, published in the Official Gazette on 23 May 2025.
General Resolution 5699 updates and modifies the provisions outlined in General Resolutions 3421, 4298, and 4614.
The new reporting thresholds are:
- Bank transfers and deposits: The threshold has been increased to ARS 50 million for individuals, ARS 30 million for legal entities. The previous threshold was ARS 1 million.
- Monthly cash withdrawals: The threshold has been increased to ARS 10 million for both individuals and legal entities. The previous threshold was ARS 1 million.
- End-of-month bank account balances: The threshold has been increased to ARS 50 million for individuals and ARS 30 million for legal entities. The previous threshold was ARS 1 million.
- Monthly debit card payments: The threshold has been increased to ARS 50 million per account. The previous threshold was ARS 600,000. .
- Fixed-time deposits: The threshold has been increased to ARS 100 million for individuals and ARS 30 million for legal entities. The previous threshold was ARS 1 million. .
- Money transfers between brokers and clients: The new reporting obligation for thresholds of ARS 100 million for individuals and ARS 30 million for legal entities.
- Electronic wallet transfers, deposits, or balances: The threshold has been set to ARS 50 million for individuals and ARS 30 million for legal entities.
These changes take effect starting with the monthly reporting period of June 2025.
