Qatar has extended the Global and Domestic Minimum Tax registration deadline to 31 January 2027, giving multinational enterprise groups and joint venture groups more time to register through the Dhareeba platform and meet their compliance obligations.
Qatar’s General Tax Authority (GTA) announced on 4 November 2026 that it has extended the registration deadline for the Global and Domestic Minimum Tax to 31 January 2027. The extension applies to multinational enterprise groups and joint venture groups, giving them additional time to fulfil registration requirements through the Dhareeba platform.
The extension is intended to give affected groups more time to prepare the required data and information and complete the registration process. The GTA has encouraged all groups subject to the Global and Domestic Minimum Tax provisions to use the extended period to ensure compliance by the revised deadline.
The registration service was launched on 2 August 2026 through the Dhareeba platform. It allows groups within the scope of the minimum tax provisions to submit the required information and appoint a Designated Local Entity (DLE).
The appointed DLE is responsible for fulfilling the relevant registration, notification and tax return filing obligations in accordance with Qatar’s applicable tax rules.
The GTA stated that the extension reflects its commitment to supporting taxpayers, facilitating compliance and ensuring the effective implementation of the Global and Domestic Minimum Tax framework.
