Taiwan’s Taxation Administration announced that the payment period for the 2026 land value tax would run from 1 November to 30 November, outlining available payment methods and warning taxpayers about potential fraud.
Taiwan’s Taxation Administration announced on 22 October 2026 that taxpayers must pay the 2026 land value tax between 1 November and 30 November. Local tax collection authorities will send payment notices to taxpayers by post.
Multiple payment methods available
The Ministry of Finance provides several payment options, including convenience stores, financial institutions, ATM transfers, demand and savings deposit accounts, credit cards, IC ATM cards and electronic payment accounts.
Taxpayers may also download a Mobile Payment Provider Tax Payment App and scan the QR code on their payment notices to complete the payment.
Those who have lost their notices or have not received them may request re-issuance from the local tax collection authorities in the district where their land is located.
Alternatively, taxpayers can access the local tax online filing website to check their tax information and make payments. Login options include a Citizen Digital Certificate, Ministry of Economic Affairs Certification Authority (MOEACA) IC card, financial certificate, registered National Health Insurance (NHI) card or TW FidO.
Taxpayers warned about fraud
The Taxation Administration advised taxpayers not to click on links from unknown sources to avoid falling victim to fraud.
Taxpayers who have authorised a financial institution or postal institution to deduct the tax from a designated deposit account should ensure that sufficient funds are available for withdrawal.
The administration also clarified that local tax collection authorities will not call taxpayers to ask them to confirm their deposit account balances. Taxpayers who receive such calls should verify their authenticity to avoid potential fraud.
