The Czech Republic and Gabon have concluded negotiations and initialled a new income tax treaty aimed at preventing double taxation and combating tax evasion, following the resumption of talks in February 2025.
The Czech Republic and Gabon have concluded negotiations and initialled a new income tax treaty on 1 October 2026.
This follows officials from the Czech Republic and Gabon resuming negotiations for a new income tax treaty on 18 February 2025. The first round of negotiations continued through 21 February 2025. The proposed treaty aims to prevent double taxation of income and combat tax evasion.
The countries had previously concluded negotiations for a tax treaty in 2013, but the agreement was never signed.
The new treaty must be signed and ratified before it can enter into force.
