India and Mauritius signed an Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters, strengthening collaboration on customs enforcement, capacity building and trade facilitation.
India and Mauritius signed an Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters in Mumbai on 3 September 2026, according to India’s Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC).
Shri Vivek Chaturvedi, Special Secretary, Government of India and Chairman of CBIC, and Shri Rohit Ramnawaz, Director General of the Mauritius Revenue Authority, signed the agreement on behalf of the two countries.
The signing ceremony was attended by Shri Tej Kumar Gujadhar, Chairperson of the Mauritius Revenue Authority; Shri Yogendra Garg, Member (Customs) of CBIC; and senior Customs officials from Mauritius and India.
The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in preventing, investigating and combating customs offences. It also provides for institutional collaboration through capacity building and technical exchange, while supporting trade facilitation and economic cooperation.
