Pakistan and Croatia have agreed to launch negotiations on an income tax treaty while advancing broader efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation across trade, investment, defence, agriculture, labour mobility, and diplomatic engagement.

Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a release on 9 July 2026, announced that officials from Pakistan and Croatia met on 9 July 2026 and agreed to begin negotiations on an income tax treaty in the very near future.

Both parties have also agreed to strengthen bilateral relations by activating political consultations, advancing negotiations for a Double Taxation Treaty, and expanding cooperation in trade, investment, defence, agriculture, labour mobility, and port connectivity.

If an agreement is reached, the treaty will need to be finalised, signed, and ratified before it can enter into force.
