Cabinet approves Thailand's accession to the Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement on the Exchange of GloBE Information, with the first exchange of GloBE Information Return reports scheduled by December 2027.
Thailand’s Cabinet approved the signing of the Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement on the Exchange of GloBE Information (GloBE MCAA) at its meeting on 16 June 2026, according to a Revenue Department press release.
The agreement, developed under the standards of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), provides a framework for participating jurisdictions to exchange tax information relating to large multinational enterprise groups.
Somsak Anantawat, Director-General of the Revenue Department, said, “Thailand’s accession to the GloBE MCAA marks another important step in aligning the country’s tax framework with international standards and strengthening international tax transparency. The agreement will enable Thailand to exchange the information necessary for the effective administration of the top-up tax regime, thereby reducing the risk of tax avoidance.”
“Furthermore, joining the agreement reflects Thailand’s commitment to implementing international tax standards. It will help strengthen the confidence of investors and the international community, while also supporting Thailand’s objective of becoming a member of the OECD in the future.”
