The measure is intended to manage domestic fuel supply as global oil and oil products markets face significant price fluctuations due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Russia will ban gasoline exports from 1 April to 31 July, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced on Friday, 27 March 2026 .

The measure is intended to manage domestic fuel supply as global oil and oil products markets face significant price fluctuations due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Novak said that despite international market volatility, strong foreign demand for Russian energy resources remains. Domestic crude oil processing continues at last year’s levels, ensuring steady production of gasoline and other oil products.

Last year, Russia exported nearly 5 million metric tons of gasoline, about 117,000 barrels per day.
