The new digital tool helps bettors calculate tax obligations on annual winnings exceeding BRL 28,467.20, with payments due by the end of April using data from mandatory operator reports.
Brazil’s tax authority, the Federal Revenue Service (RFB) unveiled a digital tool on 2 March 2026 to help citizens calculate income tax on earnings from betting platforms (BETs) and fantasy sports competitions.
Taxpayers must use data from ComprovaBet—a document summarising annual betting results that operators must provide by the last business day of February each year. The tool calculates net winnings and determines tax liability based on this consolidated information.
A 15% tax applies only to annual net winnings exceeding BRL 28,467.20. Earnings below this threshold remain tax-free. Any tax owed must be paid via DARF (Federal Revenue Collection Document) by the last business day of April.
The initiative aims to improve tax compliance and simplify obligations for individuals using betting sites and virtual competition platforms.
