The tax treaty is between the two jurisdictions, aiming to prevent double taxation and combat tax evasion between Romania and Andorra. 

Romania’s Chamber of Deputies (lower house of parliament) has approved its first income and capital tax treaty with Andorra on 3 September 2025.

Signed on 27 September 2024, it is the first treaty between the two countries, aiming to prevent double taxation and combat tax evasion.

It will take effect once ratification instruments are exchanged and apply from 1 January of the following year.

Earlier, Romania’s government approved the ratification of the income and capital tax treaty with Andorra on 16 April 2025.
