The UAE–Serbia CEPA entered into force on 1 June 2025, eliminating tariffs on over 95% of traded goods and expanding cooperation in services, investment, and digital trade.
The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and Serbia came into force on 1 June 2025, following its signing in October 2024.
This announcement was made by the UAE’s Ministry of Economy & Tourism on the same day.
It eliminates tariffs on more than 95% of goods traded between the two countries and streamlines customs procedures. The deal also covers services, intellectual property, government procurement, trade remedies, investment, and digital trade.
The CEPA includes rules on origin and standards compliance to qualify for tariff benefits. It aims to boost trade, support SMEs, and provide mechanisms for dispute resolution.
The agreement was signed by UAE Minister Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi and Serbian Minister Tomislav Momirović, witnessed by their presidents. Joint committees will oversee its ongoing implementation.
