Cyprus has ratified its first-ever income tax treaty with Curacao on 9 May 2025.

Signed on 23 April 2025, this is the first treaty between the two countries and aims to eliminate double taxation on income and prevent fiscal evasion between Cyprus and Curacao. The treaty is based on the OECD Model Tax Convention (2017 Model).

The treaty applies to various taxes, including Cyprus income tax, corporate income tax, the special contribution for the Defense of the Republic, and capital gains tax, as well as Curacao income tax, wages tax, and profit tax. It establishes 0% withholding tax rates for dividends, interest, and royalties.
