Turkey’s Ministry of Trade has announced that officials from Turkey and Syria met in Damascus to address bilateral matters, including plans to negotiate a new income tax treaty on 23 April 2025.

Turkish  Minister of Trade  Ömer Bolat and his delegation concluded their two-day visit to Damascus, the capital of Syria. “We will move quickly on issues such as promoting and protecting investments, preventing double taxation, banking cooperation, opening Turkish banks in Syria, initiating Ro-Ro services, and eliminating customs delays,” said Bolat.

If an agreement is reached, it will replace the existing 2004 treaty.
