Armenia’s parliament has approved higher tax rates on online casinos and bookmakers on 6 March 2025.

Starting 1 April 2025, gambling tax rates per bet will double from 0.175% to 0.35% for online casinos and from 0.1% to 0.2% for bookmakers.

Starting 1 April, bookmakers must pay AMD 100 million (USD 253,000) for every AMD 50 billion bet, while online casinos will pay AMD 350 million (USD 887,000) for every AMD 100 billion gambled. In addition, companies in the sector will continue to face an annual licensing fee of AMD 600 million (USD 1.5 million) in addition to the corporate profit tax.

Taxes are based on self-reported data from gambling operators.

These rates could keep doubling yearly until a gambling oversight body is set up to monitor bets, winnings, and profits. Authorities warn that if it’s not in place by 2028, levies may increase three, four, or even five times.
