Slovenia’s government has released a draft legislation to introduce mandatory electronic invoicing (e-invoicing) for B2B transactions on 11 February 2025.
The Financial Administration of Slovenia (FURS) has proposed a major reform to combat VAT evasion with mandatory B2B e-invoicing. This aims to strengthen the tax system by improving control, reducing fraud, and increasing compliance.
Since 2015, e-invoicing has been required for suppliers to public sector entities (B2G) in Slovenia.
This new draft law on B2B e-invoicing introduces notable updates to the previous proposal, which includes extending the implementation deadline from July 2026 to January 2027.
As such, all B2B transactions would require e-invoices starting 1 January 2027.
