Indonesia’s Regulation No. 81 of 2024, which implements the Core Tax Administration System (CTAS), went into effect on 1 January 2025.

CTAS is the Directorate General of Taxation’s (DGT) comprehensive system streamlining key tax administration processes. It integrates essential functions such as taxpayer registration, tax return filing, payments, audits, and collections.

Indonesia’s Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati issued Regulation No. 81 of 2024 (PMK-81) to simplify tax rules for the Core Tax Administration System (CTAS). It was enacted on 18 October 2024.

The finance minister emphasised that the CTAS is vital for meeting the nation’s revenue targets. The CTAS offers benefits like automating and digitising tax administration, improving risk-based compliance analysis, increasing transparency in taxpayer accounts, and promoting accountable financial reports for the Directorate General of Taxes.

“Tax reforms, including the core tax implementation, become a strong backbone for the government to achieve the state revenue target,” the Minister said.
