Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Economy and Commerce announced that it has concluded negotiations for an income tax treaty with Hong Kong on 17 January 2025.
The treaty aims to eliminate double taxation of income and prevent tax evasion between the two nations. The agreement also aims to create favourable conditions for foreign investors, protect residents from double taxation, and strengthen transparency and fairness in tax relations. Furthermore, it provides for the exchange of information between the competent authorities.
Any resulting tax treaty from these talks will be the first between the two jurisdictions and must be signed and ratified before taking effect.
