Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov has signed into law the ratification of a new income tax treaty with Azerbaijan on 22 November 2024.
The aim of this tax agreement is to eliminate double taxation with respect to income taxes and the prevention of tax evasion and tax avoidance between the two countries. This deal is also expected to improve trade and encourage cross-border investments.
The agreement will become effective 30 days after the exchange of ratification instruments and will be applicable from 1 January of the year following its enforcement.
Initially signed on 24 April 2024, this income tax treaty is the first between the two nations.
Azerbaijan’s National Assembly (Milli Mejlis) ratified the income tax treaty with Kyrgyzstan on 28 June 2024.
