The tax information exchange agreement (TIEA) between the US and Uruguay took effect on 10 November 2024.
This follows Uruguay’s Chamber of Senators’ approval of a tax information exchange agreement with the US on 7 August 2024.
The agreement, signed on 24 October 2023, marks the first of its kind between the two nations. It aims to enhance tax compliance and combat tax evasion between Uruguay and the US.
