On 16 July 2020, the General Tax Authority (GTA) of Qatar has issued Decision No. 4 of 2020 and made public on 1 March 2021, which confirms the obligation to submit the transfer pricing (TP) disclosure form, master file, and local file applies to taxable years beginning on or after 1 January 2020 for taxpayers that exceed the revenue and asset thresholds.
Transfer pricing disclosure form
TP disclosure form is to be filed with the income tax return if total revenue for the year or the total value of assets is equal to or more than QAR 10 million.
Master file and Local file
Resident entities and permanent establishments (PE) in Qatar are required to submit a master file and local file if the following conditions are met:
- The total turnover or total assets in the financial year (FY) is at least QAR 50 million; and
- One of the group entities is resident outside of Qatar.
The requirement to submit the master file and local file applies to tax year beginning on or after 1 January 2020 and the documentation must be submitted by 30 June of the following year, i.e. 30 June 2021 for the financial year ending on 31 December 2020.
