FSIS | FSIS notice 39-18 regarding application for export: This notice cancels FSIS Notice 38-18 and reissues its content to include missing information. The missing information is in section III. D. For most countries, all FSIS authorized meat, poultry, and egg product establishments are eligible to export meat, poultry, and egg products, provided all requirements indicated in the FSIS Export Library are met. A small number of countries however, require additional certification provided by the establishment and approved by FSIS before exporting can commence. This prior approval is obtained using FSIS Form 9080-3, Establishment Application for Export. See Details |
FSIS notice 37-18 of how to handle obsolete export certificates: This notice provides instructions to Inspectors in Charge (IICs) on how to handle obsolete export certificates. FSIS has revised FSIS Form 9060-5. All previous editions of both forms obsolete as of June 29, 2018. See Details |

Public health alert for beef, pork and poultry salad and wrap products: The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert out of an abundance of caution due to concerns about contamination with Cyclospora. The incubation period for Cyclospora ranges from two to 14 days, which would include the dates of July 25 through August 6, 2018. See Details |

Public health alert for products containing FDA-regulated whey powder: The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert due to concerns that products may be contaminated with Salmonella from whey powder that has been recalled by the producer of the ingredient. FSIS is issuing this public health alert out of the utmost of caution to ensure that consumers are aware that these products, which bear the USDA mark of inspection, should not be consumed.
