An Asia Pacific regional meeting was held on 11 and 12 November 2015 to discuss the outcomes of the project on base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS) and their significance for the countries of the region. Representatives of seventeen regional economies and a number of international organizations took part in the meeting. The participants exchanged experiences of regional technical and policy issues arising from the BEPS project. The countries gave feedback on delivery of the BEPS package and discussed the following issues:

  • Areas of priority for the regional countries;
  • Planned BEPS activities; and
  • Engagement by the countries in the implementation phase of the BEPS project.

The participants discussed developing an inclusive framework to involve all interested countries in the implementation and monitoring of the project on an equal footing.

The conference also discussed related issues including capacity building; the development of toolkits targeted to the needs of developing countries; and new initiatives to develop a capacity building framework in the Asia Pacific region.
