The tax authority of Chile issued Order No. 1757(the Order) on 6 July 2015 according to which Chilean shipping companies are obliged to pay income tax under the provisions of article 59 of the Income Tax Law whenever operating with Argentina. Also following the termination of Argentina – Chile Income and Capital Tax Treaty (1976) in June 2012, the payment of income tax according to domestic law became mandatory.
