The revenue authority of Ghana has formed a special revenue collection taskforce including 40 members. The aim of taskforce is to enforce compliance with the country’s tax code and to encourage actual or potential tax defaulters to honor their tax obligations.
The taskforce will be responsible for checking the issuance and filing of value added tax (VAT) and National Health Insurance Levy invoices by VAT-registered businesses; the filing of pay-as-you-earn and other tax returns by their due dates; and the payment of any outstanding tax debts owed to the GRA.
