During the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Summit of Heads of State and Governments, held on 17 to 18 August 2013 in Lilongwe (Malawi), South Africa signed a Multilateral Southern African Development Community Agreement on Assistance on Tax Matters. The SADC has fifteen member states in the southern Africa region. Following the signing of this agreement by South Africa the tax administrations of the SADC member states have more possibilities for exchanging tax information with South Africa.
