FTC Final Orders Settling Charges Against Retailers Accused of Marketing Real Fur Products as Fake Fur:
The Federal Trade Commission has confirmed final orders settling charges that retailers sold products containing real fur when they were advertised as containing “faux” fur, and that they did not identify the animal. Neiman Marcus also allegedly labeled a rabbit fur product as containing mink fur, and failed to disclose the country of origin for three fur products as required by the Fur Act and the Fur Rules.

New test system identifies 193 different yeasts and bacteria known to cause illness:
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration allowed marketing in the U.S. of the first mass spectrometer system for automated identification of bacteria and yeasts that are known to cause serious illness in humans.  The VITEK MS can identify 193 different microorganisms and can perform up to 192 different tests in a single automated series of testing, with each test taking about one minute.

FDA defines “gluten-free” for food labeling:
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration published a new regulation defining the term “gluten-free” for voluntary food labeling. This new federal definition standardizes the meaning of “gluten-free” claims across the food industry. It requires that, in order to use the term “gluten-free” on its label, a food must meet all of the requirements of the definition, including that the food must contain less than 20 parts per million of gluten. The rule also requires foods with the claims “no gluten,” “free of gluten,” and “without gluten” to meet the definition for “gluten-free.”

A rule has published by Consumer Product Safety Commission on 26th August, 2013 is about safety standards for cigarette lighters. The customs value or ex-factory price has rounded to the nearest $0.25 increment. This is adjusted in 2003 as $2.25, when changes the producer price index (PPI). Due to increase in PPI, this price has recently adjusted to $2.50.
